We will talk about Art Deco furniture another time.
We, A&D, make household items, furniture, interior details in the Art Nouveau style. We like this style, we like Art Nouveau artists and writers of the Belle Époque. For several years, we have been restoring antique furniture. But we do not restore antique furniture to look at it. We want to use the furniture in everyday life, and restored furniture is rarely suitable for this. There are many reasons, for example, the technology of the chemical industry of the late 19th century did not know synthetic glue. Natural glue was used, and over time this glue inevitably deteriorated, the furniture loosened, creaked and broke. It was impossible to make it “like new”. And what about the aura? And what to do with a smell? And with such a science as “ergonomics”? –

It is enough to look at the bizarre shapes of chairs and armchairs of those times to understand how uncomfortable they were. Interior items were created for large apartments with high ceilings – a chandelier, a lamp in the Art Nouveau style can rarely be used in modern apartments.
Any object of Art Nouveau architecture, a separate house or apartment, was necessarily furnished with furniture in the Art Nouveau style. The houses have survived to this day, but only memories, individual photographs, posters or wallpaper in this style remain from the Art Nouveau interior.
Anyone who tried to buy something for an Art Nouveau interior in an antique store suffered a lot. Suffered from deception, from the awareness of the hopelessness of the situation. Then suffered from exploitation – alien smells, unnecessary creaks, constant repairs. Let’s say you can buy a table or chairs. You can buy a lamp in the Art Nouveau style. The easiest way is to buy a frame in the Art Nouveau style for paintings or photographs. But how to buy a door in the Art Nouveau style? This is possible only together with the house. Of course, there is a temptation to buy “a little Art Nouveau architecture”, but in fact this is impossible.
So we had to take matters into our own hands. If you can’t buy what you want, you have to make it yourself. That’s how all our products came into being. When creating them, we looked for inspiration in the works of Belle Epoque masters, Art Nouveau artists, and Art Deco masters — we memorized, collected, and processed images found in various sources.
A&D collection of Art Nouveau furnishings is formed by our findings from various sources – pictures from websites, still images from movies, our own works. Art Nouveau wall borders are presented in our store and the collection is published separately. We allow them to be used by all people of good will with any creative purposes for personal use.
Of course, no collection would be complete without products made by A&D, without our –
